Project Overview
A virtual private network (VPN) is a way to extend a private network over a public network such as the Internet. The user can then use their VPN to access data in a private network via the Internet as if they were directly connected to a private network. It is believed that using a VPN can reduce the performance of your network connection. It is because A VPN increases encryption overhead and increases latency. Performance is sacrificed for higher levels Privacy.
Performance is measured in terms throughput and degradation are measured by the amount of performance loss after introducing reduced reliability link. These results are intended to assist system administrators in evaluating VPN deployment options. The results can be used as a springboard to create more VPNs experiments and avoid pitfalls discovered in this research.
